One of the benefits of traveling through small towns with ExperiencePlus is having the ability to see how people live their lives. On our recent trip through the Piedmont region of Italy, we were awestruck by these two happy women hauling watermelons, vegetables, bread, and other assorted groceries in the handlebar baskets of their old bikes. There are no supermarkets in these villages, so the ladies do their shopping this way every day, rain or shine. We traded two cycling caps for the opportunity to chat with them for about 15 minutes, during which time we talked about their bikes, food shopping, and our experiences as bike tourists in Italy. Turns out they were just as curious about us as we were about them.
